Would you, or the communities you work with, like to contribute towards local policy, project development, plan implementation or generally to feed into your local area?  Do you need ideas around how to engage communities you work with in creative and meaningful ways?   This one day course will help participants think through, plan and engage communities to lead to positive change through a community development approach. All attending will receive a pack with clear outlines around how to plan and evaluate engagement tools as well as containing a number of techniques that can be used.    Who is this course for? This course is for all those involved in working with communities who want to diversify their methods of engagement in a planned and creative way.  It is equally relevant to those from public and voluntary sectors who are new to this kind of approach.  What will this course cover?  •How do we plan engagement? •What are the principles and values that underpin engagement?  •What is the role of a community facilitator?  •What is the range of engagement tools you can use?  •How do we evaluate engagement?  What tools and knowledge will participants take away? •An understanding of the framework around planning and evaluating community engagement  •Knowledge of a range of engagement tools and understand the context in which they could be used  •A chance to unpick the role of a community facilitator and the opportunity to practice these skills  •A pack with tools and clear guidance on how to use them  What are the intended learning outcomes?  Participants will be able to understand how good planning around the use of community engagement tools can support the way that a community contribute to a range of issues and services. Participants will also be able to understand the benefit of this for services across sectors and be confident in explaining this to others and transferring the course content to their practice.    Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
